Reading is on the Map
The town releases a new website application allowing residents to find town service locations with ease.

The Town of Reading has released a new web mapping application, Reading Town Services (http://webapps2.cgis-solutions.com/reading/services/). The application is designed to help residents locate government buildings such as Town Hall, RMLD, or the Reading Public Library and it will route the user to the desired site. It also allows residents see what day their trash is picked up, where the Town Compost is, and the location of the nearest bus stop. The address, phone number, website, and hours of operation are provided for these and other town services.
“This new application furthers Reading in its goals to make town government more transparent and interactive” said Reading Town Manager Bob LeLacheur, “I encourage residents use this new tool, and welcome their suggestions for improvements.”
School districts and voting precincts are included in separate applications that can be found on the Town’s web mapping portal (http://readingma.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html). The web mapping portal also contains a parks and recreation finder, a trail map tour, and a map tour of historic homes in Reading. The portal will be updated frequently with topical web maps and apps created by and for the Town’s Technology Division. Each is built using maps and data from the Town’s Geographic Information System (GIS).
