Reading Police on Capture of 'Incognito Bandit'

The 'Incognito Bandit' is suspected to have robbed the Salem Five Bank on Walkers Brook Drive.

Reading Police Chief Mark Segalla commended the work of authorities after the man believed to be the 'Incognito Bandit,' who is suspected to have robbed the Salem Five Bank on Walkers Brook Drive as well as more than a dozen other Massachusetts banks, was captured Friday night.

“I have been notified that a man named Albert Taderera was arrested by federal authorities while trying to board an international flight late last week.

“Taderera is suspected in February’s robbery of the Salem Five Bank on Walkers Brook Drive in Reading as well as at least 15 other bank robberies. While the investigation remains open and ongoing, I commend the multijurisdictional effort put forward by municipal, state, and federal law enforcement officers, who worked diligently to bring this dangerous suspect to justice.”
