READING, MA — A 24-year-old Reading Man has been identified and summonsed to Woburn District Court on charges surrounding numerous alleged break-ins around town, according to Reading Police. The suspect, who's identity will be released during arraignment, is accused of being responsible for 14 break-ins at numerous downtown retail businesses and the Reading Public Library.

“I commend the work of our detectives during this lengthy investigation,” Chief Mark Segalla said in a statement. “In particular, their utilization of social media to converse with our residents led to a break in this case that otherwise might not have been possible.”

A photo of the suspect was released through multiple social media outlets, generated numerous tips on the suspect’s identity, and police say the tips helped detectives identify the suspect and apply for a summons.
