Reading Scouts Dig Out Hydrants

Hope Spontaneous Service Project will become Tradition

Cub Scouts from Reading Pack 702 did some very hands on fire safety training on Tuesday night and Wednesday, clearing fire hydrants in their neighborhoods. Some went above and beyond and cleared storm drains. One scout crew even dug out a stuck motorist.

Pack 702 hopes to continue and expand this program, encouraging other scouts and community groups to adopt hydrants.

Shown are scouts TJ Hinkle, Matteo Peledge, Walter Smith, Andrew Vaillancourt, and PJ Vaillancourt.
