Reading's Barbara MacDonald Passes Away

An Obituary from the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home:

Barbara E. (Tasney) MacDonald, 95, of Reading, loving daughter of the late Charles and Florence
(Castine) Tasney, beloved wife of the late Gerald MacDonald, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30th, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Barbara was an only child who had 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Devoted mother of Sharon (Mullen) Barry and her children Kevin Barry, Susan Schafer and the late Michael Barry, Charles Mullen, Martha (Mullen) Mazzarino and her children Tasney Mazzarino, Jodi Howes, Tina Fox, Robyn Barry and Bobby Mazzarino, and Robert MacDonald and his wife Paula and their children Sara Tolliday, Allison MacDonald and Evan MacDonald.

Always at the forefront of technology, Barbara started her career as a switchboard operator at New England Telephone, and in recent years used her iPad to email, text and FaceTime daily with her family, always ending her messages with a string of her favorite emojis.

Funeral service celebrating Barbara's Eternal Life will be held in the Doherty-Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St., Reading on Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 10 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with Barbara's Family at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 4th from 4-8 pm.

Interment will be in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
