Reading's Ellen Stanton Passes Away

An Obituary from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home:

Ellen A. (Latshaw) Stanton of Reading died Jan. 11 at the Sunrise of Burlington Nursing Home. She was 87 years of age.

Ellen was born in Everett on February 23, 1931 the daughter of Harry and Leona (McCarten) Latshaw. Ellen was a resident of Reading for 45 years.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Stanton. Devoted mother of Edward J. Stanton, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Peabody, Timothy J. Stanton and his wife Ali of Acton, Ellen Lee and her husband Donald of Middleton and Brenda Stanton of N. Reading. Cherished sister of Robert Latshaw of Framingham and loving grandmother of 7.

Her funeral will be held from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church 186 Woburn St. Reading at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Funeral Home visiting hours Monday Evening from 4-7 p.m.
