Reading's Frank Hadley Passes Away

Lifelong Reading resident served in U.S. Navy during Korean war.

An Obituary from Douglass, Edgerley, & Bessom Funeral Home:

Frank Richard Hadley, a life-long resident of Reading, died at home on Jan. 22. He was 87 years of age. Frank was born in Reading on September 27, 1931, the son of the late Leslie C. and Annie S. (Doucette) Hadley.

Frank was a graduate of Reading High School class of 1951. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Frank was a retired General Line Foreman for the Reading Municipal Light Department where he worked for 55 years. Frank also loved to travel. Frank was a longtime member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Wakefield Elks #1445.

Frank was the husband of Clare Hadley, father of Michael Hadley and his wife Laurie, Kevin and Timothy Hadley. Stepfather of the late Bryan M. Carter and his wife Claudia, Kathleen Carter, Michelle Flynn and her husband Dan. Brother of Edith Sheehan and her late husband George and the late Leslie L. Hadley and his wife Loraine. Grandfather of 3, step grandfather of 3 and great grandfather of 1. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his best friends James and Donna Blomely.

Funeral services and burial were private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
