Reading's John Quinlan Passes Away
Longtime town resident belonged to the senior golf league at Hillview Country Club.

John J. Quinlan of Reading, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Feb. 13 with his family by his side. He was 95 years of age.
Born in Winchester, John was the loving son of the late John and Mary Devaney) Quinlan. John was a graduate of Boston University. He was a member of the American Legion and and the Knights of Columbus Council 1031, both in Reading.

John was a purchasing manager for the textiles industry for many years. After his retirement he opened a small engine repair business called Bear Hill Small Engine Repair. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. He belonged to the senior golf league at Hillview Country Club in North Reading for many years. John especially enjoyed spending time at his camp at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
Beloved husband of 66 years to Delia M. (Thompson) Quinlan. Devoted father of Barbara A. Quinlan, Marjorie J. Quinlan, Regina M. DeRosa, Kathleen F. Quinlan and the late Mary E. Quinlan. Loving grandfather of Justin, James and Mark DeRosa. Dear brother of Francis X. Quinlan and the late Paul Quinlan.

Funeral from the Doherty Barile Family Funeral Home 11 Linden St. Reading, Tuesday Feb. 19th at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass Celebrating John's Eternal Life in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 am. Interment will be in Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Monday Feb. 18th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home. Parking attendants will be available.
Donations in memory of John may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
