Reading's Joseph Moccia Passes Away
Longtime town resident was a retired school teacher from Somerville High School.

Joseph H. Moccia, a resident of Reading for 34 years, died January 2 at the Winchester Hospital. He was 70 years of age.
Joseph was born in Cambridge on February 5, 1948 the son of late Joseph L. and Ruth (Laurendeau) Moccia. Joe was a retired school teacher from Somerville High School where he taught for 40 years and also worked as an insurance agent for Horace Mann Insurance.
Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Eileen T. (O’Brien) Moccia. Loving father of Dennis J. Moccia and his wife Sarah of Amesbury and Rochelle Cowan and her husband Brian of Haverhill. Cherished brother of Robert Moccia of Malvern, PA, Carol Teixeira of Stonybrook, NY and MaryBeth Wall of Peabody. Cherished grandfather of William Cowan and Zoe Moccia.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Jan. 4 from 4-7 pm at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading. Funeral and burial are private.
