Mignosa First From Reading To Cross Marathon Finish

More Reading results from the cold, wet, and windy 122nd Boston Marathon.

Reading's Kate Mignosa finished Monday's running of the 122nd Boston Marathon in 2:54.24, the first from town to cross the line.

In rain, cold, and high winds, the 21-year-old runner crossed the finish line in 25th place for women, just 15 minutes behind the winner, Desiree Linden (2:39:54). Despite the weather, her time was faster than last year when she finished in 3:02.43. Mignosa's time at the halfway mark was 1:24.33.

The men's race was won by Japan's Yuki Kawauchi in 2:15.58.
