Mary Ellen Horan, of Reading, 52, passed Monday, Feb. 4.
Mary Ellen was born October 11, 1966 in Woburn to the late Chris and Marie Horan. She was the middle of three sisters. Mary Ellen graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1985 and earned her license as a Registered Nurse from Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1991. For many years, Mary Ellen shared her very kind, caring, generous spirit and sense of humor with her patients in hospitals and nursing homes.

Mary Ellen loved spending time with family and friends, listening to music, lounging on the beach while enjoying clam cakes and Del’s lemonade, following the Boston Red Sox, working crossword puzzles, and especially shopping for shoes.
Mary Ellen is survived by her daughters Rebecca (Kevin) Hanlon of Woburn, MA and Sarah Crowley of Reading, MA; her sisters Joan (Daniel) Fisher of Fort Wayne, IN and Catherine Horan of Reading, MA. She also has several nieces and nephews: Thomas, Joshua, and Madeleine Gray of Reading, MA and Alex, Andrew and Matthew Fisher of Fort Wayne, IN.

Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 10 from 4-8 pm at Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading. Funeral Mass to be celebrated Monday, February 11 at 10:30 am at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St., Reading.
