Reading's Morgan Cox Passes Away
Was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading.

Morgan H. Cox of Reading passed away peacefully in his home on April 8 surrounded by his family.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Morgan was the son of the late Morgan H. Cox and June (Martinson) Cox. Morgan was unfailingly kind, always helping others, ever ready to lend aid however he could. He was open and warm with friends and strangers alike and a constant support to his family.
Morgan received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science and History from Texas Tech University. He worked in the insurance industry in Little Rock, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston where he became Director of Special Claims for Liberty Mutual and later a Vice President of Claims at The Hartford in Boston.

Morgan was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Reading, where he had served on the Vestry. He volunteered whenever help was needed for church ministries, the Bread of Life Feeding Ministry in Malden, and for other church activities. Morgan loved trivia games and was often in demand when teams played. He loved to travel and his adventures took him from the coast of Maine to the snows of Alaska. He toured Europe with friends and spent many sunny days in Bermuda, where he and his wife had countless happy memories.
Morgan leaves his wife of 38 years, Ruby B. (St. Clair) Cox of Reading; his cousins Mary McComas of Florida, Rev. Scot McComas of Texas, Andrew McComas of Tennessee and Kelly Edens of Virginia; his brother in-law James St. Clair and his wife Dana of Westford and his cherished niece Hadley St. Clair.

Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, April 12 at the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home 25 Sanborn St. (corner of Woburn St.) Reading.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday April 13 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 95 Woburn St. (corner of Chute St.) Reading. Interment will be at Wood End Cemetery in Reading.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Morgan’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. MA/NH Chapter 309 Waverly Oaks Rd. Waltham, MA 02452 or Peter Sanborn Place 50 Bay State Rd. Reading, MA 01867.
