Reading's Ted Chisholm Passes Away

Longtime town resident was a graduate of Reading Memorial High School.

An obituary from the Douglass, Edgerley and Bessom Funeral Home:

Edward “Ted” Chisholm, originally from Reading, passed away in his sleep on Feb. 9, after a lengthy illness at 52 years old.

Most recently a resident of Stratford, CT, Ted also lived in New Orleans, LA, Chicago, IL, Jacksonville, FL, and Almaty, Kazakhstan over the last two decades. In Kazakhstan, Ted served as a Peace Corps Volunteer and learned Russian. A graduate of Reading Memorial High School (1984), Assumption College (1988), and Rutgers University (2006), Ted worked as a librarian.
He was an avid sports fan and traveled extensively in the US to attend professional hockey and baseball games. His time in Jacksonville and New Orleans converted him (unfortunately) into an SEC football and baseball fan as well. Ted also volunteered as an English instructor for newly-arrived immigrants and had a passion for studying world history and literature.
