Resident Reports Possible Sweepstakes Scam

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.
Friday
At 12:42 p.m., a resident reported a possible scam involving a Nevada sweepstakes company, which told the resident she was randomly selected to win $3.5 million, but would have to reimburse the company $900 for taxes.

At 12:59 p.m., police received a report of a loose dog with injuries in the Juniper Street area.
At 1:59 p.m., police received a report of money being stolen from a resident’s home.

At 4:17 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street. One victim complained of neck pain, but refused treatment.
At 10:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a dispute at an Erwin Road address.
Saturday
At 1:34 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint at a Lowell Road address.
At 11:33 a.m., a caller reported a man attempted to break in to his vehicle at on Main Street.
At 1:27 p.m., a caller reported that someone tampered with the lock on her vehicle.
At 5:42 p.m., police responded to a report of an assault in the parking lot of on Main Street.
At 11:07 p.m., a resident reported a possible burglary at his home. The victim reported a missing laptop computer and personal checkbook.
Sunday
At 3:15 p.m., a resident reported a missing mink jacket.
At 8:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at an Oakdale Road address.
