RMHS Students Ready For European Tour 2014

By Linus Teutsch ('14)

Between June 27th and July 11th of 2014, forty RMHS students and six adults will be traveling abroad to Austria, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic to see how differently things are done in other parts of the world.

The organizer of this trip is Dr. Ryan, a history teacher at the high school. A great reason for foreign travel is it expands our minds. “The way we do things,” said Dr. Ryan, “is not the only way to do things.”

This will be Dr. Ryan's twelfth school-related trip since 2001. Planned for this trip will be a stay in the cities of Vienna, Budapest, and Krakow. These cities have not only been chosen because of the history behind them but also because they are generally safe for tourists.

A current senior Emily Bukovich went on the trip in 2013 to Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia. For her the most beneficial part of the trip was seeing different cultures of the world because aside from the trip she had only left the US to visit Canada.  She suggests traveling to everyone. Speaking of last year’s trip, she said, “It was the best two weeks of my life.”
