RMHS Students Visit RCB's Operation Center

RMHS students enrolled in a Retail Banking course with Reading Cooperative Bank this year to learn about bank responsibilities.

Reading, MA – Students enrolled in the Retail Banking course at Reading Memorial High School recently visited Reading Cooperative Bank’s operation center on Walkers Brook Drive. The course, instructed by Mike Foley, RMHS Branch Manager, is intended to give students a hands-on approach to learning banking responsibilities. The students, ranging from sophomores to seniors, are divided into classes of four students each, to allow individualized guidance while working in RCB’s full-service educational branch located at the high school.

“The field trip is a great way to for the students to see how the concepts they are learning in the course apply to real-world banking situations,” says Mike Foley, RMHS Branch Manager.

During their visit, students heard from Bryan Greenbaum, RCB Senior Vice President & COO, as well as from Maxine Hart, Chief Human Resource Officer. Greenbaum emphasized innovation, whereas Hart informed the students about the Bank’s shared value proposition. Additionally, the students developed an advertising campaign for RCB’s Christmas Savings Account. In small groups, the students presented their ideas to their classmates and advisors, as well as the Bank’s Vice President & Marketing Director, Shanna Cahalane.
