Road Resurfacing To Lead To Delays, Detours, Road Closures In Reading

The work is expected to take several days to complete.

READING, MA — Road work will lead to delays, detours and road closures in Reading beginning Thursday.

The Town of Reading posted the following on Facebook:

The Town's paving contractor Lazaro Paving Corp. is expected to begin reclaiming work of the existing roadway pavement on Hemlock Road, Oak Ridge Road, Pine Ridge Road, Sylvan Road, and Emerson Street tomorrow (Thursday, July 23, 2026) at 7:00 A.M., weather permitting. The reclaim operation will take several days to complete.

Delays, detours, and road closures should be expected. If you need your vehicle during this time, please be prepared for potential delays as construction is occurring. All on-street parking will be prohibited and will be strictly enforced by the Reading Police Department.

If work is occurring on your scheduled trash day, please have your trash and recycling at the curb no later than 6:30 A.M. to ensure pickup.
