Rockets Win Final Home Swim Meet of Winter

A combination of opponent schedules and date conflicts at their Burbank home has put Reading on the road for the remainder of its schedule.

The home schedule has been kind to the Reading boys' swim team this winter. Unfortunately, after two meets it's over. The Rockets beats North Andover Wednesday, 93-77, their second and last home meet of the season at the Burbank YMCA. With the win, Reading improves to 2-3.

Reading beat Burlington in its only other home meet in their schedule, which includes nine away meets. A combination of opponent schedules and date conflicts at their Burbank home has put Reading on the road for the remainder of its schedule.

But none of that mattered against North Andover, a non-league opponent from the Merrimack Valley Conference. Reading won two individual events with sophomore Mark Bonnabeau taking the 500 free in 5:38.91 and freshman Alexey Gornovoi winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.61. In addition, Reading swept all three relay events for coach Ken Holbrook.
