Run for Team Hoyt in April Fool's 5K

The April Fool's 5K will start at 10 a.m.

Support Team Hoyt and run in the . The race starts at 10 a.m. at . 

Team Hoyt was started by , who pushes his son, Rick, in the Boston Marathon every year. He also competes in triathlons and other races worldwide. All of the proceeds from the 5K will benefit The Hoyt Foundation, which in turn will benefit the Easter Seals and the Children’s Hospital in Boston.

Team Hoyt member Dan Quinn organized the 5K and said that training for the marathon and meeting Dick and Rick has been a memorable experience.

"Being apart of Team Hoyt really changes your outlook on life. Dick and Rick teach the motto "Yes You Can," which to me shows that people can accomplish anything they set out to achieve, like me organizing this 5K race," Quinn said.

The 5K course starts at Ipswich River Park and will travel through surrounding neighborhoods. DJ Jeff Cunningham will provide music throughout the morning. The top male and female runners will receive prizes including something from Marathon Sports and REI. One of the top three male and female runners will also receive a 30-day free trial and fitness assessment at Boston Sports Club (BSC).

Food and drinks will be available after the race, including beer from The Wine Cellar of Stoneham, donuts from Heav'nly Donuts and pizza from Mike's Famous Pizza for $2 per slice.

Registration is $32 per runner, $14 per child and the first 100 registered will receive “Race Bags” which include discount coupons from Marathon Sports, BSC and Olympia Sports. Contact Dan Quinn at danquinn9@hotmail.com with questions.
