School Committee Plans FY16 Budget Vote Next Week
Discussions about the budget began earlier this month and continue this week.

The Reading School Committee plans to vote on the Fiscal Year 2016 budget next week after several weeks of discussions and public input.
Those discussions continued Thursday, Jan. 22 and are scheduled to conclude during a Monday, Jan. 26 meeting during which the agenda indicates a vote is expected.
Superintendent John Doherty’s has recommended a level-service budget, as requested by the finance committee, and has outlined a need for an additional $849,620 to meet that level-service goal. The increase takes into account contractual obligations to faculty and staff as well as some other factors.
