Take A Walk This Weekend

Walk Reading Weekend a chance to step out, enjoy and explore your home town.

You can start in the town forest. Or join a group at Mattera Cabin. And if you're the more independent type, just strap on the sneaks and head out on your own.

This Saturday and Sunday is Walk Reading Weekend. Sponsored by Walkable Reading, the Reading Trails Committee, and the Reading Open Land Trust, it's two days about getting out to enjoy and explore Reading by foot or bike. If you have something red, wear it, and when you return home, report how many miles you covered on www.facebook.com/walkablereading. The total miles Reading residents covered will be tallied on Facebook. It can be walking, running, biking or hiking. If you need help, check the Reading Trails Committee webpage for up-to-date information and trail maps at www.readingma.gov/trails-committee.

If social walking is your thing then there are plenty of options, starting Saturday morning.
