Town Discusses Old Zoning Bylaws, and the Need to Change Them
Reading looks to the past to improve the future.
On Monday night, business owners, residents and others gathering to discuss for the third time this year potential changes to zoning bylaws that date back to 1982, reported the Daily Times Chronicle.
The goal is to make the bylaw more understandable, and also adapt zoning issues to complement current concerns for businesses and residents. Vanasse Hangen Bustlin, a consulting firm, has been hired to assist Reading with its planning process.
The town hopes to have an article ready for recommendation at Town Meeting, having a draft by July 15. The next public forum is June 18.
