Want to Get Rid of Your Household Hazardous Waste?

Be sure to bring it to Wakefield High School on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Wakefield and Reading Departments of Public Works are holding a household hazardous waste collection day at Wakefield High School on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The event is for Reading and Wakefield residents only, so you will need to bring identification.

The collection runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the high school on 60 Farm Street.

Some of the items you will be able to dispose of include photo chemicals, mothballs, oven cleaners, transmission fluid, and car batteries.

Commercial waste will not be accepted, and the DPWs are asking you leave latex paint, propane tanks, televisions, and CRTs at home.
