Welcoming Summer at Martins Pond
An outdoor summer escape right in North Reading.

The weather has finally turned and a recent string of cloudless days makes the case that summer is truly here. That means the school year is over and it may be tougher to carve out Great Escape time. But given two resources you can sneak some grown-up down time into the daily routine: other families and Martins Pond.
It is probably safe to say that other parents will be craving adult company this summer and Martins Pond offers a safe and pretty outdoor gathering spot. Meet neighborhood families at the playground, where the kids can run off and play and adults can hang out and talk.
The Martins Pond Association has also scheduled events, which include a canoe trip on Saturday, June 18 guided by Mass Audubon Naturalists and a fishing derby for kids on Saturday, July 9. On June 23, a Summer Solstice Concert featuring the 20-piece North Reading Community Band, and a special guest appearance of local Dixeland Jazz Band, No Reading, will kick off the season.
