It is with great pleasure that I support Jeanne Borawski as a candidate for a position on Reading's School Committee.
I have known Jeanne for ten years, and I was her English Department Head when she taught at Wilmington High School. After thirty-six years of teaching, I believe that Jeanne was one of the finest teachers whom I have ever supervised. Jeanne was creative, innovative, dedicated, and extremely professional. She was a person with whom it was a pleasure to work.
One of her many strengths was her extraordinary ability to work with a wide range of students and address their varying academic and social needs. The respect with which she treated all her students was returned by them. Her classes were stimulating, dynamic, and very conducive to student achievement. It was a joy to watch her teach. Also, she was held in such high regard by parents and her colleagues.
I have lived in Reading since 1971, and my children are graduates of this school system. I have always been impressed by their experiences at the various school levels. Their education has served them well in their careers and in their personal lives. Over the years, I have been a strong advocate for our public schools. As an educator, I believe that Jeanne has a great deal to contribute to the education of our children. She has the knowledge base and the experience to have a positive impact on our schools. Additionally, her personal skills and her energy make her a valuable asset to our community. I feel that we are very lucky that a person of her caliber is a candidate for school committee.
