Young Reading Players Learn Skills From Boston Celtics

Guard Avery Bradley hosted a clinic in Waltham, and eight YMCA players from Reading were among the participants in the session.

Eight young Reading basketball players got the pro treatment on Thursday as they traveled to Waltham to participate in a clinic hosted by young Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley and former Celtic Dana Barros.

The clinic, sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, took place at the Celtics' practice facility and focused on defensive skills. Bradley is known for his defensive prowess, establishing himself as one of the top defensive guards in the NBA.

Tyler Gonick, Ryland Fiscus, Jeremy Rosh, Yazmine Gnanaratnam, Vithuli Rajadurai, Josh Klages, Keith Richmond, and Ryan Rose Hatch were the members of the Burbank YMCA who were selected to participate in the camp.

In addition to the basketball lessons, Barros and Bradley told the children the importance of hard work in whatever they choose to do with their lives.

"(It's exciting) to make their day, and some of them it might make their lives to meet an NBA player," said Bradley. "To be fortunate enough to be able to give back, I'm just excited."
