The Young Women's League of Reading presented a check for $4,846.37 to the Reading School District at the school committee meeting on October 21 to benefit B.E.A.K.E.R. (Bringing Educators and Kids Exploratory Resources), which provides science equipment to Reading elementary schools. Since the B.E.A.K.E.R. program's inception in 2001, the Young Women's League of Reading has donated approximately $35,000 to this initiative.
You can help the Young Women's League of Reading raise funds for B.E.A.K.E.R. by joining us for a private movie screening of the animated comedy film, Free Birds. The film features the voices of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson as turkeys who travel back in time to attempt to "alter the main course of history."
Join us on the film's opening weekend on Saturday, November 2 at 10 am at Woburn's Showcase Cinema. Tickets are $10 each, and all proceeds are donated to the B.E.A.K.E.R. program. To purchase tickets, please contact Ellen LaMarche at 781-944-2171 or ellenlamarche@hotmail.com, or order tickets online at www.ywlreading.org. Hope to see you at the movie!
