Young Women's League of Reading Fundraiser a Huge Success

Over $14,000 raised for charitable causes

The Young Women’s League of Reading hosted its annual dinner dance on Saturday, January 31 at the Hillview Country Club from 6:30-midnight. A record-setting 265 revelers joined in the fun to raise over $14,000 for charitable causes. All proceeds from the event will be disbursed among community groups, foundations, organizations and families in need.

Please continue to support the Young Women’s League of Reading by attending a private movie screening of the film “Home” on Saturday, March 28. Over the next few weeks, the group will begin advertising for this private screening; visit the group’s website, www.ywlreading.org, for more information as the date nears.

The Young Women’s League of Reading, Inc. is a philanthropic organization, benefiting individual charities, scholarships, and social needs in the Reading, MA area. In the past five years alone, the group has raised and returned to the community more than $60,000.

The group was founded in 1950 and is comprised of 25 women whose mission is to coordinate fund-raising, social and civic events in Reading. Members use the group’s long-standing traditions along with innovative fundraisers to support the community.
