Study links weekly groceries to lower blood pressure (medicaleconomics.com) — A long-running partnership between the Revere health center and the Greater Boston Food Bank has supplied hundreds of thousands of pounds of healthy groceries to local patients, and a new study links regular packages to lower blood pressure over time. While the program didn't significantly change A1c levels, researchers say the Revere-based model shows how sustained, high-quality food support can complement primary care for residents facing food insecurity.
