2 Charged With Sabotaging Salem ATM: Police

Salem police said the ATM at the Marblehead Bank on Canal Street was targeted "several times" with a device designed to steal money.

SALEM, MA — A device designed to steal money from people making ATM withdrawals was found on a machine on Canal Street in Salem Friday with police saying they believed it was used "several" times in recent days.

Police said the device was a "trap" that would intercept cash when it was withdrawn from Marblehead Bank at 125 Canal Street so it never arrived in the drawer of those making the withdrawal.
