60 Grams Of Cocaine, Loaded Gun Seized In 2 Salem Drug Busts: Police

Salem police said in both busts the cocaine was packaged for street sale and separate North Shore residents were charged.

SALEM, MA — Approximately 60 grams of cocaine, 47 grams of fentanyl and a loaded pistol were seized in two separate Salem drug busts this week, according to Salem police.

Salem police said that on Wednesday they set up surveillance on Lafayette Street at about 1 p.m. based on information that a man had a gun and was in possession of cocaine. Police said they made contact with the man when he got out of an Uber at the location and found him in possession of a loaded .38 pistol and several bags of crack cocaine totaling about 32 grams packaged for street sale.

Police said Justin Greaves, 50, was charged with carrying a loaded firearm, unlicensed possession of a firearm by a felon, defacing the serial number on a firearm and cocaine trafficking.

On Friday, police said they observed suspicious behavior on Ropes Street and conducted a traffic stop of a BMW. After informing the driver that she was driving an unregistered vehicle in a public way, a search of the car uncovered approximately 28 grams of cocaine and 47 grams of fentanyl that police said was also packaged for street sale.

Oona Tims, 25, of Nahant was arrested on Friday and her BMW was towed, according to police.
