SALEM, MA — Zero Waste Salem, formerly SalemRecycles, will bring back its Free Swap 'N' Drop to Salem Common on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is free and focused on reuse, with organizers inviting residents to swap or donate usable clothing and household items. Swapping is optional, and people may drop items off, take items away, or do both.
Donations will be accepted at Washington Square North, opposite Mall and Oliver streets, between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
A rain date is scheduled for June 13.
Items accepted include women's, men's and children's clothing and accessories, along with small household items in good, working condition. TVs and computers will not be accepted.
Organizers are also planning a reusable bag swap and asked people to bring extra bags that others can use to carry home items.
At the end of the event, all unswapped items will be collected by ReSupply. Damaged or unusable textiles should not be brought to Salem Common. Instead, damaged textiles can be brought in bags to Bay State Textile Recovery bins located in all Salem Public School parking lots.
