SALEM, MA — Salem Public Schools will begin its 2026 Summer Eats program on June 29, with meal service running through Aug. 21, with four new locations across the Witch City.
The program, which served more than 30,000 meals last year, is free to all children and teens 18 and younger.
Food and Nutrition Services added four new sites for 2026: Witchcraft Heights Elementary School at 1 Frederick Street, Bates Elementary School at 53 Liberty Hill Avenue, Gallows Hill at 98 Washington Street, and Pequot Highlands at 12 First Street.
Dinner will be served Monday through Friday at three locations. Collins Cove Park, 32 Collins Street, will serve dinner from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Palmer Cove Park, 38 Leavitt Street, will serve from 4 to 6 p.m. Pequot Highlands, 12 First Street, will serve from 5 to 5:45 p.m.
Lunch will be available Monday through Friday at eight sites, except Witchcraft Heights Elementary School, which will serve meals Monday through Thursday. Witchcraft Heights Elementary School will serve from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Bates Elementary School will serve from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Loring Towers, 1000 Loring Avenue, will serve from 11 a.m. to noon.
Additional lunch sites are Salem Public Library, 370 Essex Street, from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., Gallows Hill, 98 Washington Street, from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m., Mary Jane Lee Park, 41 Palmer Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Rainbow Terrace, off Loring Avenue, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Forest River Pool, 32 Clifton Avenue, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
The district said weekly themes will continue this summer, including Independence Day Week from June 29 through July 3 and Shark Week from July 6 through July 10.
Sites will also include arts and crafts activities, lawn games and other sports, according to the announcement.
Summer Eats menus will be posted online in the coming weeks.
