DANVERS, MA — Those traveling through Essex County on Saturday night are advised of a State Police sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location.
The checkpoint will occur on June 6 into the early hours of June 7.
State Police said: "The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways."
State Police said the vehicle stops will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured and inconveniences to motorists will be limited to ease fear and anxiety.
