The collection is limited to rigid, white, expanded polystyrene, also known as Styrofoam. The material must be free of labels and tape.

Squishy foam, packaging peanuts and food service containers, including meat trays, clamshells and Styrofoam cups, will not be accepted.

The event offers residents a recycling option for a material that cannot be placed in curbside bins. Casella, formerly Save That Stuff, has densifiers that can process the material for recycling.

Organizers are also seeking volunteers for two Saturday shifts, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

People seeking more information or interested in volunteering can contact Alisa Cherkasova at acherkasova@salem.com or 978-619-5672, or Ibrahim Lopez-Hernandez at ilopez@beverlyma.gov or 978-605-2323.
