SALEM, MA — The Salem Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Salem Arts Association's new home at Pickering Wharf on Thursday at 3 p.m.
The event is free to attend and open to the public.
The ceremony will celebrate the arts organization's new space on Salem's waterfront.
"Salem Arts Association is thrilled to be part of this vibrant waterfront community and to continue their mission of supporting artists, fostering creativity, and bringing people together through the arts," the SAA said.
The new space creates room for exhibitions, educational programs, events, and community engagement.
The ribbon cutting will precede the opening of an exhibition called "On This Ground: Being and Belonging in America."
The exhibit opening reception is Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
The exhibit will run from June 20 through July 25.
Exhibit Dates: Saturday June 20 – Saturday July 25, 2026
The Salem Arts Association invited artists to submit their work reflecting the Peabody Essex Museum's exhibit: “On This Ground: Being and Belonging in America."
PEM has brought collections of Native American and American art together for the first time in its history.
This installation celebrates artistic achievements across time, space, and worldviews, "exploring how art can help us understand this place we call America."
