The Pride of Baltimore II is a historically accurate sailing replica of an early 19th-century Baltimore Clipper ship.

The ship has logged more than 275,000 nautical miles and visited more than 200 ports in 40 countries since its commissioning in October 1988. The vessel's mission is to promote historical maritime education in every port of call.

During the Salem visit, guests will be able to board the ship, explore the deck and learn about life at sea. The crew will also share the vessel's history and explain what it is like to sail a historical ship in modern times.

The public visit is scheduled to run from July 31 through Aug. 2 at Central Wharf.
