SALEM, MA — The Salem Children’s Alliance is asking residents to support the 2026 Feeling Fresh Hygiene Product Drive, a community effort to collect personal care items for local students before the new school year.
All donated items will be distributed to Salem students during the 2026 Back to School Fair.
The drive is focused on helping students get basic hygiene products as they head back to class. Access to those items plays an important role in a student’s confidence, well-being and mental health. Providing everyday essentials can help students feel prepared, supported and ready to succeed in the classroom.
Community members are encouraged to donate new, unopened personal care products. Requested items include body soap, hair care products, toothbrushes and toothpaste, razors, shaving cream, deodorant, loofahs and other essential hygiene items.
Additional requested items are listed on the city of Salem’s Amazon Wishlist.
Donations can be dropped off at three Salem locations. Those sites are Salem Fire Department Headquarters, 48 Lafayette Street; the Salem Children's Alliance office in the city of Salem City Hall Annex, 98 Washington St., third floor; and the Community Life Center, City of Salem, 401 Bridge Street.
Local businesses, organizations and community spaces are also invited to host collection bins. People interested in setting up a collection site can contact Sarah Roy at sroy@salem.com or 978-619-5600 ext. 41008 for more information.
