SALEM, MA — A Salem man is facing assault and gun charges after police said an investigation into a disturbance on Harrison Avenue led to the seizure of a Glock .40-caliber handgun and 66 rounds of ammunition in large-capacity magazines.
Police said they responded to Harrison Avenue at about 8 a.m. on Sept. 18 for the disturbance report. Hector Ramos, 33, who police said is unhoused in Salem, was subsequently charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
During a search warrant search of Ramos' vehicle, police said they found a Glock .40-caliber gun with a large-capacity magazine, as well as three additional magazines with a total of 66 rounds of ammunition.
Police said, based on that discovery, Ramos was charged with carrying a firearm without a License to Carry and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
