The following is an excerpt from the Tuesday log. Calls included concern about another possible fire at 98 Washington Sq. East and a report of suspicious behavior by a cab driver.
At 8:56 a.m. Tuesday police, received a call about smoke coming from — the same building that was engulfed in flames during Friday's four-alarm fire. When police and fire arrive, they checked out debris and said they did not find any smoke coming from it.
Police responded to Highland Avenue at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday on a report of suspicious behavior by a taxi driver. Police said the party reported she had a dispute with a taxi driver. The caller told police she was at waiting for a cab. Police said a taxi from another companypulled up and the woman got into the vehicle not realizing it was with a different company. The woman told police she informed the taxi driver her residence has a contract with the city and she does not have to pay directly after getting rides. Police said the woman told officers the cab driver started demanding money and said he would not let her out of the cab. Authorities said the woman got out of the cab at a red light and walked home. When the women contacted the taxi company she called earlier, they informed her they have been having a feud with the other company, which allegedly scans calls to take customers.
Police received a call about a hypodermic needle found on Howard Street by the cemetery at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday. Police said the needle was retrieved and disposed of.
At 10:42 a.m. Tuesday police responded to Harbor Street on a report of a dispute with a delivery service.
Authorities responded to at 11:12 a.m. after an assault on a teacher was reported. Police said a student pushed a staff member out of the way to get back into a classroom after he was causing a disturbance and swearing in class and in a hallway. The child's mother was notified, police said.
At 12:45 p.m. police and fire responded to Washington Street after an odor of smoke was detected in a building.
Police received an accidental 911 call at 4:22 p.m. Tuesday. When officers called the resident back, police said the caller told authorities the intended call was for 411.
At 5:09 p.m. Tuesday, police received a call about a vehicle parked for four weeks at Linden and Holly streets. Police said the vehicle was tagged.
The responded to a report of smoke coming from a house on Tremont Street at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday. Officials said the source of the smoke was a stove fire, which was extinguished by the fire department.
Police responded to Pacific Street at 5:32 p.m. on a call about an undesirable salesman.
At 6:33 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to Canal and St. Paul streets on a report of an individual selling steaks out of a pickup truck. Police said they were unable to locate the steak seller.

Police arrested Adam Timothy Campbell, 22, of 48 Pond St., in Beverly, on a warrant.
Dawn Marie Glidden, 44, of 98 Bridge St., was arrested on a charge of assault by a dangerous weapon.
Jacob Santiago, 25, of 8 Stevens St., in Peabody, was arrested on a a second-offense charge of operating with a suspended license.
