Bluebikes To Feature 250 Special Bikes For America 250 Celebration
Student-designed bikes will circulate across Greater Boston through mid-August as Boston 250 events build toward July 4.
SALEM, MA — As US 250th celebrations build toward the Fourth of July, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is backing a special rollout across the Bluebikes system in Greater Boston.
Bluebikes is transforming 250 bikes into moving tributes to the country's 250th anniversary, with the limited-edition bikes set to begin entering circulation June 22.
The custom bikes will feature designs created by student artists from MassArt and UMass Boston in collaboration with Blue Cross. The designs are inspired by themes of healthier people, healthier communities and a healthier environment. The bikes will appear throughout the Bluebikes system until mid-August.
