Boston North Cancer Association Names Three New Board Members

On September 20th three new members were welcomed to the Boston North Cancer Association, Inc. Board of Directors. “We are humbled to have these three engaging women serve on our Board as each has many years of community service---be it in the political, religious, social arenas with an emphasis on charitable organizations throughout the North Shore,” said Boston North Cancer President Susan McCarthy.

Laurie Hamill, a long-time resident of Lynn, is the Executive Director of Camp Fire North Shore based in Salem. Donna Barrett, RN, of Peabody, is the Nursing Director of NSMC Union Hospital in Lynn. Diane Solimine Edgett lives in Peabody and is the Office Manager of Solimine Funeral Homes in Lynn.

Founded as a non-profit in 1944 (originally as Lynn Cancer Association), Boston North Cancer Association has invested more than $1 million in cancer-related medical resources, support services, educational programs, and annual scholarships (three $3,500 to college-bound high school seniors; one $7,500 to medical school student) to benefit residents in more than 25 North Shore communities.
