Brodie's Seaport Awarded Seasonal All-Alcohol License
The Salem Licensing Board unanimously approved awarding a seasonal all-alcohol liquor license to the owner of Brodie's Seaport.
At their meeting Tuesday night, the Salem Licensing Board unanimously approved a request from Brodie's Seaport owner Joel Votto for a seasonal all-alcohol license.
The Derby Street restaurant and bar, which opened in the space formerly occupied by The Seaport Cafe in September, already had a year-round beer and wine license and Votto said he was requesting the seasonal license in the hopes of selling hard alcohol between April 1 and Jan. 15.
Appearing before the board Monday night was Votto and his attorney, Jack Keilty, who assured board members that his client had searched the city for an available year-round all-alcohol license - but found that the two or three that are currently available are selling for between $80,000 and $100,000.
