Celebrating Preservation in Salem - The Dickson Memorial Chapel & Conservatory

It's Preservation Month and we are celebrating 131 years of the Dickson Memorial Chapel and Conservatory and 5 years of the F. Carroll Sargent Arboretum at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Please join us for a celebration of preservation, beauty and history. The dedication of the chapel to the City of Salem was May 17th 1894 and the accreditation of the arboretum was May 18th 2020. 

When: Saturday May 17th

Where: Dickson Memorial Chapel , 57 Orne Street in Salem, MA.

Time : 9:00AM -12:00PM

Music @ 9:00AM by Jen and Bob Strom 

9:30AM Our festivities begin with a brief introduction, history and update on the restoration of the Chapel. 

10:00AM Learn about a Salem State University project involving the chapel and its wooden pews, carving and newly restored stained glass windows. 

Please join us to celebrate! There is no charge, but donations are appreciated. We hope to see you on the 17th. More people make bigger and better things happen. Everyone working together is making a difference. Thank you for your support. The Friends of Greenlawn.

Please park outside the cemetery gates and walk in if you are able as parking is limited and Greenlawn is an active cemetery. You will find the chapel just inside the side Orne Street gate behind the office to the left. We start at 9:00AM, but please swing by anytime between 9:00AM-12:00PM
