Salem’s streets are about to come alive in a whole new way. Local educator and creative entrepreneur Amanda Bondi has announced the release of Salem Passport Quest, a 64-page interactive, spiral-bound guidebook that invites readers of all ages to explore Salem, Massachusetts through quests, sidequests, and stamp-collecting adventures.
The Salem Passport Quest blends history, folklore, and imagination to help families, friends, and solo explorers uncover the city’s hidden corners. With custom illustrations by local illustrator Ashlee Beadle, collectible stamps at participating businesses, and story-driven challenges, the book turns Salem into a living questboard where visitors sharpen magical “Guild” skills like navigation, potion tasting, time travel, and decoding.
“Salem is so much more than crowds and witch hats,” says Bondi. “This book gets people exploring gardens, museums, and local businesses, while also exercising imagination and teamwork. It’s a keepsake and game, all wrapped into one screen-free experience.”
Participating partners include the Peabody Essex Museum, House of the Seven Gables, Hive & Forge, Jolie Tea Company, Salem Athenaeum, Winter Island, and the Punto Urban Art Museum, among others. Each location offers unique quests and a custom stamp to mark completion.
The book’s release is timed for September 23, 2025, just before Salem’s busiest fall tourism season.

Salem Passport Quest will be available for purchase online at salempassportquest.com, at participating partner locations, and in select local shops throughout Salem starting September 23, 2025.
