Criminal Complaint In Salem Skateboarder Hit-And-Run
Salem police said the Salem woman who hit a teen skateboarder last week came forward Tuesday morning.
SALEM, MA — A criminal complaint will be filed against a 25-year-old Salem woman who hit a teen skateboarder last Tuesday night and drove off without providing identification.
Salem police said the woman contacted them about coming forward for an interview earlier Thursday and that the investigating officer will be filing the criminal complaint "based on the evidence uncovered."
Police said the teen girl reported Friday morning she was struck at the intersection of Ord Street and Aborn Street — three days after the incident.

Video of the collision showed the woman stopping and briefly talking with the victim, then driving off without providing any contact information.
Police said they investigated the complaint and were able to locate additional video of the collision. They said the driver came forward about 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The Salem Police Department is coordinating with the Essex County District Attorney's Office on charges against the operator of the vehicle.
