Dog of the Week.

Special Pete is looking for the special home.

9 Month old Pete arrived in Salem, MA at the Northeast Animal Shelter with some special needs. He is friendly, affectionate and enjoys running around. He loves playing fetch and chewing on rope toys. If you were to watch Pete play fetch, you would never guess that his back legs don't work properly, as you watch him charge across the play yard. When he walks, his limp is more noticeable. Pete goes for weekly acupuncture and has recently begun hydrotherapy sessions. Because of this, Pete has recently begun to move his tail. Pete's therapy sessions will have to continue after he is adopted and potential adopters will have to consider this cost when thinking of adopting him. Pete is a nice, sweet Lab Mix teenager. He loves everyone he meets and he is hoping to find a loving forever home.

If you are interested in meeting Pete, you can visit him at the Northeast Animal Shelter. Visiting hours are Monday through Friday 10-8 and weekends 10-6. You can also call the shelter @ 978-745-9888 and ask to speak with Jenna or another adoption counselor.

Information about the shelter and how to adopt can be found on their website @www.neas.org
