On April 7th, Friends of Salem Woods begins their monthly series of woods walks with Chris Burke. The walks are open to all, and take place the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m., April thru November.
Meet in the parking lot of Olde Salem Greens Golf Course, at the very back of the lot, by the bicycle rack. The pace is moderate, and occasionally you'll have to scramble over some steep and rocky sections. This time of year, there won't be a whole lot of green yet, but we will listen for birds and frogs, look for turtles and swans in the marsh, and see early spring growth like skunk cabbage.
