MASSPIRG volunteers from Salem State University will act out a battle between a sea turtle and a bag monster. The battle will represent the danger of plastic pollution to marine wildlife. The event will support “Ban the Bag”, a local campaign to ban one time use plastic bags in Salem.
USPIRG is working to spread plastic bag bans throughout the country. Fourteen cities have already enforced plastic bag bans and another 29 have introduced bans. In an effort to reduce plastic pollution in Salem, the MASSPIRG chapter at Salem State University is joining the effort to ban plastic bags.
