Join Salem Sound Coastwatch for this workshop on marine bio-invaders. Adrienne Pappal, Aquatic Invasive Species Program Coordinator for the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management, will give a short presentation about the marine invasive species in our waters, their potential impacts, and what is being done to manage them.
Participants will be able to see and touch samples of these seaweeds and marine animals, which are found in tidepools, along the rocky shoreline and on floating docks. After the presentation, those who are interested can explore a Winter Island tidepool with SSCW staff and volunteers. (Wear shoes that can get wet and are suitable for walking on rocks.) Free and open to the public. Children should be able to sit through a 30-minute presentation.
RSVP requested (not required).
